Gabriela Wilson
Gabriela Wilson
Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Gabriela Wilson is a Canadian-Chilean interdisciplinary artist whose practice merges glass and metals to explore themes of diaspora, politics, and identity. She holds a BAH in Studio Art and Museum Studies from the University of Guelph and an advanced diploma in Craft and Design (Glass) from Sheridan College, with additional studies in jewellery and gemmology at George Brown College. Gabriela is currently pursuing an MFA in Visual Arts at York University.
Her sculptural works often combine glass with native metals such as iron, copper, and silver. Through kiln casting, copper electroplating, and 3D printing, Wilson investigates the intersections of fragility and strength, using material transformation as a metaphor for shifting notions of belonging and cultural hybridity.
Gabriela has held multiple roles on the GAAC board, including Membership and Communications Officer, Website Coordinator, Conference Organizer, Vice President and CEO/President.
