Curtis Dionne
Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
Curtis Dionne left home at age 16 in 2000 to pursue a career in craft and design and began to learn glassblowing from masters from the Glass City of Guadalajara. In 2008, Curtis bought a homestead in rural New Brunswick, where he built a 14th-century-style wood-fired furnace, founded Glass Roots Inc, and built a spiritual level of connection with the fire, the material and the process
In 2021, Curtis and his partner Charlotte MacLeod relocated their family to Saint John New Brunswick to start a public glass studio. In January 2023, Glass Roots expanded their workshop, moving equipment into an adjoining building. This new addition, which had been boarded up for decades, was transformed into a functioning studio with a viewing area where guests can sit and watch glassblowing.
In 2024 Curtis fulfilled his vision and renovated the basement of a historic uptown factory into a striking gallery where he continues to produce one of a kind pieces that ship world wide and amaze visitors
