Ramona Stinson
Ramona Stinson
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Ramona is a multidisciplinary artist, from Strathmore, Alberta. She now resides in Vancouver, working full time as a glass blower for Bocci Design & Manufacturing.
She obtained her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Glass at the Alberta College of Art & Design in 2017 before furthering her studies in Scotland at Northlands Creative for a glass seminar.
Ramona works mainly in blown glass but incorporates illustrations; both in paint and carving into glass. A lot of her work focuses on the fine line between beauty and brutality and how they balance and bounce off each other, specifically in the human body; its strengths and weaknesses. This is largely inspired by her own history as a dancer. There is a subtle sensuality in the anonymous fragments of the figures that she seeks to explore. "It’s a fine line: you can tell it’s the human figure, but you’re not always sure what parts of the figure it is."
