Brenda Malkinson

Brenda Malkinson is a Canadian artist working across disciplines to create inventive and contemporary stained glass, painting, and woodblock prints. Malkinson experiments with mixed media and works with the creative possibilities of natural and organic forms. Her practice researches and explores the impression of light, form, and materials.

?Brenda is a recipient of the 2013 Edmonton Artists Trust Fund Award, 2018 ACAD Alumni Legacy Award, 2019 Eldon & Anne Foote Edmonton Visual Arts Prize, shortlist award.

Malkinson taught Art and Design for the University of Alberta, Faculty of Extension for twenty-three years, Series stained glass instructor for fifteen years along with numerous workshops and courses throughout Canada. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Craft Council and Society of Northern Alberta Print Artists and volunteered her knowledge and time to schools and not-for-profit organizations, as well as organizing local glass exhibitions and events.
