Christy Haldane
Douro-Dummer, On, Canada
Christy Haldane lives on the edge of the Canadian Shield in Douro-Dummer, Ontario. Working in series, she combines recycled window glass with other common building materials, such as stone, concrete and steel enhancing the fragility and strength of the glass components. The sculptures consider humanity’s effect on the environment and the precarious balance in which the natural and artificial environments exist. Her work ranges from small scale wearable body art to large scale installations.
