Laura studies glass art techniques under the famous glass artist, Narcissus Quagliata, who pioneered many methods for painting in glass. She also has learned fusing techniques from Tim Carey and traditional glass painting from Williams & Byrne in England.
She currently is exploring imagery of femininity thru the use of fused glass without enamel painting. Motivated to capture female beauty and nature in glass, her fused glass paintings are composed of delicate detail but still maintain a feel of spontaneity. Her artistic process emphasizes daydreaming to develop concepts followed by experimentation to refine and solve the technical challenges of realizing the image in glass. She often intentionally uses chemical reactions to add dimension to her pieces. The unpredictability of glass adds additional challenge, but the resulting luminosity is unparalleled by other painting mediums. Follow Laura’s artistic journey as she strives to capture womanly essence and explores her femininity.
