Sarah Hall studied architectural glass in Canada, the UK and Middle East before establishing her own studio in Toronto in 1980. Her work comprises contemporary art glass at an architectural scale. She has created hundreds of large-scale artworks for public, private, and institutional settings. In the process, she has gained recognition for her creativity and uncompromising artistry.
Sarah is a respected educator and writer in the field of architectural glass. She was awarded the Order of Canada in 2019 for her innovations and contributions to solar and bird-friendly glass.

"Lux Gloria", Cathedral of the Holy Family, Saskatoon, SK
These 3 solar windows are embedded with 1000 silver coloured solar cells and collect energy for Cathedral. The windows are painted and kiln fired and include dichroic glass laminations. H 37 ft W 12 ft each window.

"The Science of Light", Grass Valley ES, Camus, WA
This solar project in Glass Valley School showcases solar energy for the school children. A light running on direct current is attached to the embedded solar cells and lights the interior stairwell. If the sun is shining the light is on!
"Waterglass", Harbourfront Centre, Toronto (east facade)
This solar art glass installation wraps around 3 sides of the Harbourfront Theatre and incorporates 360 images of the history and ecology of Lake Ontario.

This narthex window is created in kiln-fired painted glass along with antique glass laminations. The exterior layer is bird-friendly kiln cast quarry glass. H: 6 ft W: 2.75 ft
"Prophesy Window", Koln, Germany
This kiln-fired painted and screen printed window was created for a chapel in Koln, Germany and is one of my first non-leaded windows. It is 8 feet high by 40 inches wide.

This foyer window in a Catholic school is created with leaded glass, screen-printing and acid etched flashed glass. Diameter 5 feet.
"Leaves of Light", York University, Toronto
This window is illuminated by its solar facade on the west side. Sandwiched between the painted and solar layer are sheets of LED's. The gingko motif responds to the grove of trees surrounding the Life Sciences Building. H:12 ft; W: 6 ft
