Artist Bio:

Bevin Simpson is a Calgarian and she received her Bachelors of Fine Art at the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2004. She has won numerous awards for her work including graduating in the top 5 of her class receiving the ACADs Board of Governors award.

Artist Statement:

My interests lie in social, cultural, technological and environmental issues. I utilize glass and other materials to impart informed associations and metaphors for the conceptual ideology of a given piece. I also use mixed media, found objects, documentation, audio, projections and text to add to the conceptual core within my work. These techniques create objects that portrays binaries and series that are site specific in concept and or installation based. The investigation of the contemporary world that we inhabit is the basis of my conceptual ideas and their physical manifestations.
