Danièle Bellemare Lee: Born in Montreal, Danièle Bellemare Lee is an actress, lecturer and filmmaker who obtained a master’s degree in movie script writing at Sorbonne in Paris. Since 2003, she as been based in Germany. There, her experience as a TV camerawoman and expat, sparked her passion for documentary film making and art video. She also held lectures about Art and integration (For exemple at Kunstmuseum Ravensburg 2023).
Reflections and the 5 elements compose the visual space of her work. With painter Maria Niermand-Schubert, she developed Motion Painting; a video interpretation of painted art. Milestones of her work are: Uprooted Home (Artfilm; 2011), Motion Painting (2012), “Von Narren und Hexen” (feature documentary; 2014) which was screened in cinema theaters 11 weeks (2014-2015) in southern Germany.
Her latest documentary, Elena Lee, Pioneer Gallerist was screened at the Harbourfront Center in Toronto as part of the Craft and design Symposium (2024).
