Kathy Kranias is a ceramic artist, educator, and art glass historian based in Toronto. She is the 2021 Lily Yung Memorial Award recipient from Craft Ontario. Kranias' SSHRC funded Master’s Degree research and writing on Canadian art glass is published in books, exhibition catalogues and journals, including Marcelle Ferron: Fused Glass (Éditions Simon Blais, 2024), Public Art in Glass (Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, 2020), and A Thousand Colours: Sarah Hall Glass (Friesens, 2017). Kranias has exhibited widely, including A New Light: Canadian Women Artists (2020) at the Embassy of Canada Art Gallery, Washington D.C. Kranias served as studio faculty in the Craft & Design Program at Sheridan College (2004-2018). She holds a M.A. in Art History (York University), B.Ed. in Visual Arts (University of Toronto), and a B.F.A. in Studio Art (Concordia University).
