What to do in Whitehorse?

Whitehorse in the summer receives 19 hours of sunlight and offers an amazing view into the wild frontier of the North. Here are some super fun activities inside and outside for a mix of cultural and natural explorations:

Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre

Explore our host venue, Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre, to learn about the First Nations that have been in the Yukon since before the last Ice Age. You can learn all about Kwalin Dün's history and stories at the Cultural Centre, where amazing artwork is on display.

Boat Tours

There are a lot of boat tours hosted by various companies in Whitehorse, including tours on powered boats and paddlers like kayaks and canoes. These tours are great options for seeing the lush landscapes, but staying a bit closer to Whitehorse itself.

Takhini Hot Springs

The Takhini Hot Springs are natural mineral hot pools, just 29 km from downtown Whitehorse! They have been in use for centuries, and in 1907, they were made into a commercial site. You can take a nice hot soak in a beautiful landscape as well as explore the 200 acres of land surrounding the springs.

Yukon Wildlife Preserve

The Yukon Wildlife Preserve is 25 minutes from downtown Whitehorse, where you can see caribou, lynx, elk, bison, and much more. This preserve cares for injured animals before releasing them back into the wild and is a great place to learn about these animals and their habitats.
