Founded in 2019, as a nonprofit organization, the Ottawa Glassblowing Co-op (OGC) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment to support the artistic creativity, learning and growth of its members and to engage and educate the public and community in the art of glass.

To achieve this, we maintain a high-level glassblowing facility that prioritizes member access and provides comprehensive learning opportunities. Classes are offered to support the learning and growth of its members and the broader glassblowing community in the Ottawa region.

Artist Bio: Yvonne Avis, General Manager of the Ottawa Glassblowing Co-operative, has been instrumental in its growth since co-founding it in 2019. With a passion for glassblowing since 2012, she helped establish the co-op, served on its Board for four years, and modernized operations through a website and improved communication. Yvonne coordinates major public events, including the annual glass pumpkin patch fundraiser, and actively promotes glass artistry through social media. She stays engaged with the broader glassblowing community by attending workshops, ensuring the co-op remains dynamic and innovative. Her leadership has significantly shaped Ottawa’s glassblowing scene.
