Karina Guévin, Cédric Ginart

For this demonstration on the theme of the “shared path”, we'll be combining various blown and solid flameworking techniques to create a unique four-handed piece.
Like a travel diary, this demonstration will be a snapshot of our Yukon experience, visually conveying the emotions and impressions that this adventure will inspire.

Artist Bio: Karina Guévin and Cédric Ginart are two glass artists who combine their talents both individually and in synergy in their studio near Montreal, Canada.

Karina discovered her passion for glasswork during her studies at the Université du Québec à Trois - Rivières(UQTR).It was there that she began creating multimedia sculptures incorporating glass, which prompted her to continue her training at the Montréal glass school.Her artistic approach is both bold and inventive, constantly seeking to push back the boundaries of creativity.The shapes and colours of her work are inspired by her flamboyant spirit, capturing the essence of her dynamic personality.

Cédric discovered flameworking during his studies in biochemistry, before taking a course in scientific glassblowing at the Lycée Dorian in Paris, from which he graduated in 1995.He moved to Quebec a year later and, over the years, has collaborated with scientists, artists, entrepreneurs, and architects on innovative projects, one-off creations, and limited series.

Karina and Cédric are the recipients of many prestigious grants and awards, testifying to their artistic excellence.Their work, which fuses technique and creativity, is recognized and admired worldwide. Always in search of new adventures, they travel the world to teach and exhibit. Their creations can be found in numerous private and public collections, including those of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Lauscha Glass Museum, the Murano Glass Museum and many others.
