Glass Making and Materialism: Open discussion on how we contribute to the world
David Martin
In this discussion I will cover the topic of materialism in relation to glass art. This open discussion will question how we can contribute to the arts with a focus on a conceptually larger idea. I will also talk about the importance of recognizing this debate and why understanding our overall impact is the first step towards creating a larger appreciation for our own work and the contribution we have to the world. Instead of making for the sake of making, we should create for the love of our passion and our appreciation of the material we use.
