Smoke Stack – Pushing the Bubble

David Martin

Pushing the bubble, both inside and out, requires patience and problem solving to achieve your desired shape. During this demo I will use inside sculpting techniques to push the inside of the bubble outwards while also using tools to manipulate the outside of the bubble. I am excited to share the struggles and triumphs that I have gone through while practicing this creation process.
The “Smoke Stack” is a glass representation of a drawing I created in response to the concept of climate change and our continuing human contribution.

Lecture: Glass Making and Materialism: Open discussion on how we contribute to the world.
